Departmental Overview

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2009, affiliated to RTMNU Nagpur. We have BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Since 2009) & M.Tech. in Structural Engineering (Since 2014). The major strength of department is to have experienced & motivated faculty with good qualification (IIT's, NIT's & Reputed University) and working together as a team.

Department has developed extraordinary Infrastructure, Class Room, Laboratories, CAD labs, Model Room etc. Department has strong links with construction Industries in the form of regular Industrial Visits, Guest Lecturers, and Summer Training for all students and value added workshop on CADs.

Students of Civil Engineering Department also secured first rank in University Exam.

HoD Message

Civil Engineering is one of the major branch in Engineering. A Civil Engineer responsible for Planning, Analysis, Designing and Execution of the all construction related activities. The prime objective of the department is to impart quality education with conducive environment for the overall development of the students to make them globally competitive.

Department of Civil Engineering embraces a wide variety of research fields, fundamental technologies in Civil Engineering (E.g. Geotechnical, Concrete, Structural, Hydraulic Engineering, hydro-science, aquatic ecosystems, urban issues, disaster risk management, regional & national planning, policy making on social infrastructure, project management, and international cooperation). It also includes cost estimation, hydraulic designs, soil engineering, transportation, environmental issues, surveying etc.

1.	Strength of Material Lab	The objective of the strength of materials lab is to demonstrate the basic principles in the area of strength and mechanics of materials and structural analysis to the undergraduate students through a series of experiments.
2.	Transportation Lab	The Transportation Engineering Laboratory is equipped with facilities for testing of Aggregates, Bitumen and Soil. The Laboratory is fully equipped for conduct of regular experiments at UG level and consultancy works.
3.	Concrete Technology Lab	The laboratory is operated as both a teaching and research facility. Equipment is available to test concrete aggregate for deleterious behavior, including alkali silica reactivity.
4.	Geotechnical Engineering Lab	Geotechnical engineering lab is a space for undergraduate students to learn the essentials about soil mechanics, and build a foundation for further understanding.
5.	Fluid Mechanics Lab	The Fluid mechanics lab helps the students to understand the characteristics of water in a pipe flow or open channel. The application of water pumps, and use of notches are explained through the laboratory setup.
6.	Structural Analysis Lab	Structural Engineering gives assurance for structural safety, also gives us proper analysis of various types of structure for material selection, sustainability Integration, construction oversight.
7.	Environmental Engineering Lab	The Environmental Engineering Laboratories support analysis of environmental samples that focus on the fate and processes involved in three main areas of research: organic pollutants, inorganic pollutants, and environmental microbiology.
8.	Survey Lab	The objective of Surveying lab is to make student familiar and competent enough to draw map in suitable scale by using different surveying instrument like total station, Theodolite, Auto level, GPS, GIS, EDM etc.
9.	Matrix Analysis Lab	The Civil Computer Laboratory of the Civil Engineering Department was established to facilitate the practical course work of UG students. It expedites the computation platform to execute simulation / modeling / analysis related to the research work.
